While the Rivetto family have long been producing wines in the Langhe, the modern story of the family starts in 2009 with the decision to pursue organic viticulture, a process that the saw the estate officially certified organic in 2016. Situated on the edge of Barolo, at 400 meters up in the Lirano hills, 15 calcareous and clay rich hectares alongside a further six hectares of alternative agricultural crops provide the ecosystem for Enrico Rivetto’s passion for biodynamic winemaking. The usual red grape varieties of the region are planted and the company produces Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera d’Asti. Rivetto are also responsible for cultivating the rare Nascetta variety.
