Terre del Volturno IGP “Morrone” Pallagrello Bianco
Terre del Volturno IGP “Morrone” Pallagrello Bianco
Alois, Campania, Italy
2020 2018
Pallagrello Bianco (100%)
“Straw yellow in colour, the Alois Pallagrello Bianco is a refined, polished wine. At times quite neutral on the nose, but a gentle floral characteristic lingers alongside faint brioche and vanilla, obtained from partial maturation in oak. The palate is rounded, almost creamy, exuding faint notes of banana and peach. Some mandarin in there too. With time in the glass these aromas become more expressive. There is a notable sense of alcohol on the finish. An interesting wine from a potentially very interesting grape variety.”

Terre del Volturno IGP “Lancella” Pallagrello Bianco
Terre del Volturno IGP “Lancella” Pallagrello Bianco
Cantina di Lisandro, Campania, Italy
2021
Pallagrello Bianco (100%)
“A light expression of Pallagrello Bianco aiming to capture primary fruit notes. Juicier and riper than others. Simple, balanced, pretty good. Easy drinking with some almond notes on the finish.”

“Initial aromas of apple, lime and subtle herbaceous note. Accompanied by a very faint touch of sweet brioche and cedar. Nice texture. Lemon and lime fruit on the palate. Acidity is a racier. Balanced finish.”

“White flowers and peach. Lots of floral and herbal complexity on the nose from scented blossom to wild fennel. Subtle notes of hazelnut juxtapose juicy citrus. The palate is well integrated, showing both depth and freshness. Impressive wine. Very polished. Excited to follow its development.”
