Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC

Cataldi Madonna is a small, family winery located high in the plains near L’Aquila in Abruzzo. It was founded in 1920 by Antonio Cataldi Madonna and gradually built a reputation for producing good local wines from Montepulciano. Today the winery is run by son Luigi.

Azienda Agricola Illuminati is known for producing one of the best Montepulciano wines in Abruzzo.

Tenute Agricole Masciarelli was created in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli and today represents one of the great names of Abruzzo’s wine making scene.

Tommaso Olivastri is based in the small hilltop town of San Vito Chietino in Abruzzo. Just two km from the Adriatic Sea and sheltered from the west by the Majella Mountains, this is exciting terroir in which to cultivate grapes such as Montepulciano and the white Pecorino, Passerina and Cococciola.

Tiberio is one of the stars of Abruzzo. Celebrated throughout Italy as the masters of Trebbiano Abruzzese this winery is well worth exploring.

Barone Cornacchia produces a wide range of highly acclaimed wines from the classic varieties and appellations of Abruzzo in central Italy. Apart from interesting expressions of Pecorino and Passerina, the estate’s aged Montepulciano is well worth seeking out.
