Light skinned variety often found in Lazio. Thought capable of making excellent wines, yet there is little of it about. Bellone is perhaps best known for its small role in Frascati. Its balancing acidity makes it popular for a role in Lazio’s sweet Frascati wines.
Based in Latina, Casale del Giglio are known in Lazio for the cultivation of international grape varieties such as Merlot, Petit Verdot and Petit Manseng.
Marco Carpineti produces organic wine on the slopes of the Lepini Mountains, close to the town of Cori, around 55km south of Rome. Farming 41 hectares of vineyard, the company is known for interesting local varieties such as Bellone and Greco Moro.
