Introduction

Recioto di Soave is a sweet, passito style wine produced in the Soave ‘Classico’ area of Soave DOC. It must possess a minimum of 70 grams of residual sugar. The best take on a dark orange colour and exude fragrant notes of wild flowers and exotic fruit. Despite this, acidity remains high and the wines are decidedly fresh. Recioto di Soave is a small production category wine with only around 120,000 bottles being made per year, compared with around 42 million bottles for the dry Soave and Soave Classico wines. The permitted grapes are the same as the dry version of the wine - Garganega with small amounts of Trebbiano di Soave.

Standout examples include Rocca Sveva’s ’Mida’ and Cantina Franchetto’s ’Santin Duico’.
