The large Anjou appellation covers a large area which boasts around 900 hectares of red grape varieties, and 500 hectares of white grapes. It generally produces inexpensive, easy drinking wines that are best consumed young.
Anjou-Coteaux de la Loire AOC is a small appellation producing sweet wines from Chenin Blanc that can age for up to 20 years.
