Château d’Yquem is almost unanimously considered to be the world’s leading sweet wine estate. Located in Sauternes it spent centuries in family ownership until its sale in 1999 to the LVMH group. Occupying 110 hectares of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, it is fermented in new barrique and is left to mature for up to 36 months to produce a rich and exotic wine that can last 50 years and more.
