Château Darius
G.F.A des Pommiers, Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, Saint-Émilion, France, 33330
Château Darius is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru property. The estate was founded in 1990 by the Pommier family who had owned vineyards in Bordeaux since 1879. In 1990, Michel and Odette Pommier acquired seven hectares in Saint-Laurent de Combes, a town located in the heart of Saint-Émilion. The wine is called Darius, in memory of a Persian king who lived in the year 500 BC and in homage to the family’s Iranian connections. The vineyards are made up of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc.
