Western Cape WO

The Wine of Origin designation Western Cape represents the broadest geographical unit in South Africa’s appellation system and encompasses the vast majority of the country’s vineyards. Wines labelled WO Western Cape may be produced from grapes sourced anywhere within this large area, which includes major regions such as Coastal Region, Cape South Coast and Breede River Valley. The designation is often used for blends that combine fruit from multiple regions while remaining within the boundaries of the Western Cape.
