Lutzville Valley WO

Lutzville Valley is a designated wine ward within the larger Olifants River wine region on South Africa’s west coast, known for its dry climate, cool Atlantic breezes, and limestone-rich soils. Despite its remote location, the area has gained recognition for producing crisp, saline Sauvignon Blanc, as well as structured Chenin Blanc and ripe, fruit-driven red blends. The influence of the nearby ocean moderates the heat, allowing for slower ripening and preservation of acidity, giving the wines a surprising freshness and sense of place in an otherwise arid part of the Western Cape.
