Nebbiolo is a late ripening grape variety. It performs well in a number of soils.
Nebbiolo is famed for producing distinctive notes of rose petal and cherry. Depending on the soil it is also common to pick up on tertiary notes of aniseed. The variety is capable of very complex wines, such as those made in Barolo or Barbaresco, so you may also detect violets, plum, cranberries and raspberry.
