Dorona di Venezia

The golden skinned Dorona di Venezia is one of Italy’s come back grapes. Rescued from near extinction by Gianluca Bisol, it is now cultivated in tiny amounts on Venice’s lagoon islands.

Tenuta Venissa is an extraordinary winery located on the island of Mazzorbo in the Venice lagoon. There is only one hectare of vineyard, but such is the level of study of this parcel, notably the level of salinity, the company are able to make incredible terroir-driven wines such as the flagship ‘Venissa’, and ‘Venusa’, produced with the rare Dorona di Venezia grape.
