Valtellina Superiore is one of the great red wines of northern Italy, produced with 100% Nebbiolo, or Chiavennasca as it is known locally, it is known for its ability to give wines of finesse, elegance and cool mountain fruit.
Sandro Fay is a co-operative wine cellar in Lombardy. It founded in 1973 and is since built a reputation for producing interesting expressions of Nebbiolo in the Valgella and Sasella sub zones of Valtellina Superiore DOCG.
Nino Negri is one of the iconic names of Valtellina. Now owned by Gruppo Vini Italiani, the estate is known for producing excellent expressions of cool climate Nebbiolo, known here as Chiavennasca.
