Swartland WO

Swartland is a large and distinctive district within the Coastal Region of the Wine of Origin system. Located north of Paarl, the area is characterised by a warm, dry Mediterranean climate and extensive dry farmed bush vines planted on shale and granite soils. Swartland has become known for expressive wines from varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Syrahand Mediterranean grapes, produced by a generation of independent growers and winemakers.
