Hengst is a prominent Grand Cru vineyard located above the village of Wintzenheim, with a warm, south to southeast exposure and marl-limestone soils rich in clay and fossilised limestone. Known for producing powerful, ageworthy wines, Hengst excels with Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and Pinot Gris, often yielding deep, structured expressions with spice, density, and notable mineral drive. The wines from Hengst are built to evolve slowly, gaining complexity and depth over many years in bottle.
Founded by Paul Caputo, Vinorandum is the place to discover more about fine wines from all around the world, as well as wine-growing countries, regions, appellations and producers.
