Kaefferkopf is a distinguished Grand Cru vineyard located above the village of Ammerschwihr, recognised for its diverse soils of granite, limestone, and marl, which support a range of Alsatian varieties. It is one of the few Grand Crus where traditional blends are permitted, though Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and Pinot Gris are also vinified as single varietals with strong site character. Wines from Kaefferkopf are typically aromatic, structured, and ageworthy, often combining floral richness with mineral tension and balanced freshness.
