Rangen is the southernmost and one of the most dramatic Grand Cru vineyards in Alsace, perched on steep volcanic slopes above the town of Thann. Its dark volcanic soils, high altitude, and full south-facing exposure create a unique terroir that produces intensely mineral, smoky wines with remarkable ageing potential. Rangen excels with Riesling and Pinot Gris, yielding bold, structured expressions marked by firm acidity, deep fruit, and a distinctive, almost flinty character found nowhere else in the region.
