The Carmignao Riserva comes from a careful selection of [Sangiovese](/grape/sangiovese) and [Cabernet Sauvignon](/grape/cabernet-sauvignon) grown in the estate's oldest vineyards, which benefit from south facing exposure. Fermentation sees a long soaking and frequent repassing of must over the grapes. Malolactic fermentation followed by maturation in [French](/country/france) durmast barriques for a minimum of twelve months before a further year or more in bottle.
