Santorini PDO Vinsanto "First Release" by Argyros Estate

Estate Argyros’ ‘First Release’ Vinsanto is a passito style dessert wine. Made primarily from Assyrtiko, with small proportions of Athiri and Aidani, the grapes are sun-dried before undergoing a slow, natural fermentation in old cement vats. The wine then ages for around seven years, three in concrete and four in neutral French and Russian oak, developing remarkable depth and balance. Fruit is sourced from ungrafted, very old vines. ‘First Release’ represents the younger, more accessible expression of the estate’s two Vinsanto bottlings, showcasing purity and tension alongside the traditional sweetness of the style.
