The Tesseron family have overseen important changes at Chateau Pontet-Canet in recent years. The conversion to biodynamic farming is now complete and will undoubtedly characterise the immediate future of this important fifth-growth estate. The transition to bio-dynamic farming has not been entirely without complaint however. The chateau's second wine 'Les Hauts de Pontet' failed to achieve an appellation status for the 2012 vintage, after the tasting panel of Pauillac deemed the wine beyond the typical characteristics of the area. As such, 2012 is labelled as a Vin de France.
