The Valle de Güímar wine appellation on Tenerife’s southeast coast, is dominated by white wine production, with the Palomino grape most prevalent in the region’s vineyards. The terrain here is rugged and increasingly steep as one moves away from the coast. Terraces have been carved into the slope to accommodate the vines and soils of volcanic matter and clay predominate at higher altitude, from where the best examples hail. Valle de Güímar wines are produced in a range of styles.
