Produced since 1982, Saint-Chinian offers both red and white wines from one of the Languedoc’s oldest growing areas. Whites are frequently made with Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Rolle. Reds are made with Syrah and Grenache. The appellation is distinctive for its schist in the north and clay and limestone soils in the south.
