The Pays d'Oc is a catch-all IGP appellation expanding across the Languedoc, making it one of of the largest in France. Terrain varies significantly, incorporating steep slopes, hilly peaks, vineyards, garrigue vegetation and of course the Mediterranean. There are dozens of varieties planted here with an increasing amount of experimentation. There are some truly excellent wines made using this IGP, but there are also many of mediocre quality.
