The area is defined by a mix of granite and shale soils, with layers of gravel and clay that provide effective drainage and contribute to structured wines. Polkadraai Hills produces a range of styles, particularly from Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, often showing a balance of ripeness and freshness.
