Vougeot is one of the most esteemed villages in the Côte d’Or, primarily due to the fact that the Clos de Vougeot, the appellation’s key Grand Cru site, takes up so much of it. Pinot Noir dominates the small output here and the wines are both hard to find and suitably expensive.
