Calabrese is a red grape variety found in the south of Italy. It is more commonly known as Nero d'Avola. Quality varies tremendously, but increasingly there are excellent mono-varietal examples while the variety blends very well with Frappato in the the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.
