Bourgueil is one of the great Cabernet Franc appellations of the Loire Valley. It produces fresh but structured wines that can be consumed young. The best of course can develop and mature for many years.
There are almost 600 hectares planted in Cheverny. Wines here are often blends - reds of Gamay and Cabernet, while whites combine Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Chinon is one of the great red wine appellations of the Loire Valley. Produced from Cabernet Franc. Although white and pink versions of Chinon are made, there is a growing appetite for the appellation’s low intervention reds.
