Bombino Nero

Bombino Nero is predominantly used in the Southern Italian Castel del Monte DOC, and sometimes in the nearby Lizzano DOC. Without the benefit of blending it produces light, red fruit driven wines with refreshing acidity. Bombino Nero is commonly mistaken as the dark skinned partner of Bombino Bianco, also found throughout Puglia, although DNA testing reveals they are in fact different, albeit closely related.
