By Paul Caputo

Cornas is a real enthusiasts wines. It’s a wine of body, power and structure, but also one capable of demonstrating sumptuous combinations of ripe berry fruit and fragrant notes of garrigue.

The primary grape variety is Syrah and in this small outpost of the northern Rhône, Syrah ripens with such intensity that the wines have become respected amongst the best in the world.

Cornas is best drank after seven to ten years from the vintage, although in super ripe years, they may benefit from additional maturation time.
